This adegso 40v cordless lawn mower review focuses on the ADEGSO 40V 17-Inch Push Mower. It is a push-style mower designed for small to medium yards. The two specs that define this unit are its 40V brushless motor and its 17-inch cutting width. The motor runs at up to 3600RPM, providing consistent power. The 17-inch deck width helps it navigate tight spaces and around obstacles like trees. You get two 4.0Ah batteries included, which allows for extended runtime. The dual-port charger lets you charge both batteries at the same time. This setup aims to reduce downtime between mowing sessions.

Who it fits
Good fit for
This mower suits homeowners with small to medium yards who prefer quiet operation. You will appreciate the lightweight 35-pound design if you want to reduce fatigue. The push drive type is ideal if you do not need self-propulsion. The two included batteries and dual charger are helpful if you want to minimize downtime. The 17-inch deck is perfect for navigating around pathways and garden features. If you want low maintenance without gas or oil changes, this model fits your needs.
Who should skip it
You should look at another option if you have a large lawn. The 17-inch cutting width means more passes to cover big areas. The push drive type requires you to walk behind the mower. If you want self-propelled convenience, this model does not offer it. The 50L bag may require frequent emptying on thick grass. Also, if you need a display or remote control, this unit does not include those features. The brushless motor is efficient, but the physical effort remains with you.
Verdict: The ADEGSO 40V 17-Inch Push Mower is a practical choice for small to medium yards. Its two batteries and dual charger help keep mowing sessions efficient.
Key specs explained for this mower
Voltage: 40V
This rating indicates the electrical potential driving the brushless motor. Higher voltage generally translates to more torque and consistent power as the battery drains. You will notice strong cutting performance even in thicker grass. When comparing cordless mowers, 40V is a standard benchmark for residential units. It offers a balance between runtime and power, suitable for the small to medium yards this model targets.
Cutting Width: 17 in
This measurement defines the deck width and how much grass the blade cuts in a single pass. A 17-inch width is compact, making it easier to maneuver around trees, garden beds, and narrow pathways. It is ideal for smaller lawns or tight spaces where wider decks struggle. You will need to make more passes to cover large areas compared to 20-inch or 21-inch models.
Battery Capacity: 2x 4.0Ah
This spec lists the included power source capacity. Two 4.0Ah batteries provide extended runtime and allow you to swap a charged battery while the other mows. The dual-port charger lets you recharge both simultaneously, reducing downtime. This setup ensures you can complete typical yard jobs without running out of power, which is critical for maintaining a consistent mowing schedule.
Drive Type: Push
This indicates the mower lacks a self-propulsion system. You must provide the physical force to move the unit forward. This design keeps the weight lower and the mechanism simpler, reducing maintenance needs. It suits users who prefer manual control and do not need assistance on steep slopes. You will engage in light exercise while mowing, which may be preferable for some homeowners.
Design and Build Overview
The ADEGSO 40V 17-Inch Push Mower features a lightweight construction that weighs 35 pounds. According to the listing, the unit measures 20 inches in height and 17 inches in width. The listed length is 2.56 inches, which likely refers to a compact folded dimension or deck thickness rather than the overall footprint. This size profile supports easy maneuverability around tight spaces, trees, and pathways in small to medium yards.
The deck is finished in blue and houses a 17-inch cutting width. You control the height with a six-position adjustment lever. This allows you to switch between cutting heights to match different grass conditions. The ergonomic handle is designed to reduce fatigue during use. A one-button start mechanism simplifies the ignition process, removing the need for pull cords or complex setups.
The rear of the mower includes a 50-liter grass bag for collection. The design supports a 2-in-1 function, allowing you to mulch or bag clippings. The brushless motor is housed within this compact deck structure. This layout keeps the center of gravity low, which improves stability on uneven ground. The materials are chosen for durability while keeping the overall weight manageable for a push mower.
Setup and Everyday Use Guide
Setting up this mower begins with the included power components. The listing provides two 4.0Ah batteries and a dual-port charger. You place both batteries into the charger simultaneously. This design allows you to reduce downtime by keeping a spare fully charged while using the other. The unit uses a one-button start system. This feature simplifies the initial operation, removing the need for pull cords or complex ignition sequences. The ergonomic handle helps reduce fatigue during operation. You can adjust the cutting height across six positions. This allows you to adapt the deck height to different grass conditions. The 17-inch cutting width and push drive type mean you must walk behind the mower. The lightweight 35-pound frame improves maneuverability around trees and tight spaces. For debris management, you can choose between mulching or rear bag collection. The 50L grass bag reduces the frequency of emptying. The brushless motor operates at up to 3600RPM. This speed provides consistent cutting power. The battery system includes overcharge and overheating protection. These safeguards ensure stable power output during use. You do not need to mix fuel or change oil. This cordless system eliminates gas maintenance. The quiet operation makes it suitable for residential areas. The compact deck aids in navigating pathways. You benefit from lower noise levels compared to gas models. The dual-port charger keeps your power source ready for the next session. This setup supports efficient mowing for small to medium yards.
Before You Buy This Mower
You should verify your existing 40V battery compatibility if you already own tools from this brand. This mower uses a specific dual-port charger for its two 4.0Ah batteries. If you switch brands, you will need to purchase the correct charger separately. The unit is a push mower, so you must be prepared to walk behind it. It lacks self-propulsion. You will need to store the batteries in a dry place to maintain their health. Regularly clean the 50L grass bag and the deck to prevent clogs. Check the six height settings before each cut to ensure they match your grass length. This model fits well into a lineup of small-yard mowers. It offers a balance of power and manageability. Compare its 17-inch width against other options. Narrower decks turn easier but require more passes. Wider decks cut faster but struggle in tight spaces. This mower sits in the middle, offering a practical compromise for average residential lawns.
