This dekopro electric lawn mower review covers the DEKOPRO 40V 15-Inch Cordless Brushless Lawn Mower. It is a compact, battery-powered tool designed for small to medium yards. The two specs that define this unit are its 15-inch cutting width and its 30-minute runtime. These figures set clear expectations for coverage area and duration. You get a lightweight machine that weighs 27.5 pounds, making it easy to maneuver. The 40V brushless motor provides efficient cutting power without the noise or emissions of gas engines. This model focuses on simplicity and ease of storage. It is built for users who want a straightforward mowing experience without complex setups.
What stands out
- 40V brushless motor delivers 3600 RPM for quiet, low-maintenance operation.
- 15-inch cutting deck allows for easy navigation around trees and corners.
- 6-position height adjustment ranges from 0.98 to 2.76 inches for varied grass types.

Who it fits
Good fit for
This mower suits homeowners with small to medium lawns who value quiet operation and low maintenance. The 30-minute runtime and 15-inch cut are ideal for yards under a quarter acre. If you live in an apartment or have limited storage space, the foldable design is a major benefit. The lightweight build makes it accessible for users of all ages. You will appreciate the cordless freedom and the included 11-gallon bag for clean clippings. It is perfect for those who want a simple, one-click start without dealing with oil or fuel.
Who should skip it
You should look at another option if your lawn is large or hilly. The 15-inch cutting width requires more passes than wider decks, which can be time-consuming for bigger areas. The 30-minute runtime may not be sufficient for extensive properties, especially if you need to mow thick or wet grass. The 27.5-pound weight is light, but the small deck limits efficiency. If you need mulching or side-discharge capabilities, this model only offers bagging. Those seeking longer battery life or a larger cut should consider a higher-capacity model.
Verdict: The DEKOPRO 40V 15-Inch mower is a practical choice for small yards and storage-conscious users. Its lightweight design and quiet brushless motor make it easy to use and maintain.
Key specs explained for this mower
Voltage: 40V
This voltage rating indicates the electrical potential driving the motor. Higher voltage generally means more power for cutting through thick or wet grass. You get consistent torque even when the blade meets resistance. This is a standard power level for residential cordless mowers. It balances performance with battery efficiency, ensuring the motor runs smoothly without draining the cells too quickly during typical use.
Motor Type: Brushless
A brushless motor lacks carbon brushes, which reduces friction and wear. This design extends the motor lifespan significantly compared to brushed alternatives. You benefit from quieter operation and less maintenance since there are no parts to replace. The efficiency also helps preserve battery charge. This spec is a strong indicator of long-term reliability for a tool you plan to use season after season.
Cutting Width: 15 in
The 15-inch deck width determines how much grass you cut in a single pass. This is a compact size ideal for small to medium lawns. You will need to make more passes to cover large areas compared to wider decks. However, the narrower width offers better maneuverability around tight corners, garden beds, and obstacles. It is easier to store and handle in confined spaces.
Runtime: 30 min
This spec states the mower runs for thirty minutes on a full charge. This duration suits small yards that require minimal mowing time. You can complete the task in one go if the area is limited. For larger lawns, you may need to recharge or swap batteries mid-job. Always compare this figure with your actual lawn size to ensure it meets your needs without interruption.
Battery Capacity: 2 x 4.0Ah
The mower uses two 4.0Ah lithium-ion batteries. Amp-hour capacity measures how much energy the batteries store. Two batteries provide the necessary power and runtime for the 30-minute operation window. You get extended usage compared to single-battery models. This setup also allows you to swap batteries if one runs out, potentially doubling your mowing time if you have spares available.
Design and build analysis
The DEKOPRO mower weighs 27.5 pounds. This light weight makes it easy to maneuver around trees and tight corners. You can push it without excessive effort. The 15-inch cutting deck is compact. This size fits small to medium lawns. It does not cover large areas quickly, but it reduces fatigue during longer sessions.
The handle folds for storage. According to the listing, the collapsed unit measures 29.5 inches in length and 16 inches in height. This compact footprint allows you to store it in tight spaces like garages or tool sheds. The absence of cords provides freedom of movement. You do not need to manage extension cords or worry about tripping over them. The 40V brushless motor runs quietly and requires less maintenance than gas engines.
A six-position height adjustment lets you set the cutting level between 0.98 and 2.76 inches. This range handles different grass types and seasonal changes. The 11-gallon rear bag collects clippings as you mow. This eliminates the need for raking afterward. The two 20V 4.0Ah batteries provide up to 30 minutes of runtime per charge. This duration suits quick maintenance tasks. The green finish is standard for outdoor tools. The design prioritizes practical storage and easy handling over heavy-duty construction.
Setup and daily use guide
Setup begins with unpacking the included components. You receive the mower body, an 11-gallon grass bag, two 20V 4.0Ah batteries, a charger, and a manual. Attach the handle to the main deck. The handle folds for storage, collapsing to 29.5 inches long and 16 inches high. This compact folded size allows you to store the unit in a garage or shed without consuming much space.
Power the mower by inserting the two 20V batteries into the designated slots. The combined system delivers 40V to the brushless motor. This motor runs at 3600 RPM no-load speed. You start the unit with a one-click switch. There is no oil or fuel to manage. The brushless design reduces maintenance needs over time.
For daily use, adjust the cutting height using the six-position lever. You can set the deck between 0.98 inches and 2.76 inches. This range lets you adapt to different grass types or seasonal growth. The 15-inch cutting width determines how many passes you need. For small to medium lawns, this width is efficient.
As you mow, the 11-gallon rear bag collects clippings. This eliminates the need for raking afterward. The bag fills as you work, keeping the lawn tidy. The mower weighs 27.5 pounds. This light weight makes it easy to push around obstacles. You can navigate corners smoothly. The runtime is 30 minutes per charge. Plan your mowing route to finish within this window. The cordless design offers freedom from cords, allowing you to move freely around the yard.
Before You Buy This Mower
You should verify that your garage or shed can accommodate the folded dimensions. The handle collapses to 29.5 inches long and 16 inches high. This compact storage is useful if space is tight. You also need to ensure you have access to standard electrical outlets for the included charger. The two 20V 4.0Ah batteries require charging before first use. Plan for about 30 minutes of runtime per charge. This is sufficient for small to medium lawns but may require recharging for larger areas. Regular maintenance involves cleaning the 11-gallon grass bag and checking the brushless motor for debris. Unlike gas models, you do not need oil or fuel. However, you must keep the batteries charged and stored properly. This mower fits alongside other cordless options by offering a balance of lightweight design and practical runtime. It is ideal for users who prioritize ease of use over maximum cutting width.
Check before you buy
