The EGO Power+ 15-Inch Carbon Fiber String Trimmer offers a durable carbon fiber shaft and automatic POWERLOAD line winding. If you are searching for ego power 15 inch carbon fiber string alternatives, you may want a different voltage, cutting width, or brand. This guide compares 6 options that share key specifications with the original model. You can choose a tool that better fits your yard size or existing battery ecosystem.
The list includes models from EGO, Greenworks, and WORX. Each alternative overlaps with the original in cutting swath, power source, or voltage class. Some offer wider 16-inch cuts, while others provide lighter weight or dual-purpose trimming and blowing. You will find options with 40V, 56V, or 60V platforms. The selections focus on practical specs like battery capacity and shaft type. This helps you find a replacement or upgrade that matches your specific needs without unnecessary features.
How each alternative compares
EGO Power+ 15-Inch Cordless String Trimmer
The EGO Power+ 15-Inch Cordless String Trimmer shares the 56V voltage and 15-inch cutting width of the original. It also uses a 2.5Ah battery. The key difference is the shaft construction. This model lacks the carbon fiber split shaft found in the top pick. It weighs 7.4 pounds, slightly heavier than the 7.28-pound original. You save on the carbon fiber durability but keep the same cutting performance. This option suits users who already own EGO batteries and want a lighter, standard shaft tool. It is a practical choice if automatic line winding is not a priority for your routine maintenance.
EGO Power+ 16-Inch Carbon Fiber String Trimmer
The EGO Power+ 16-Inch Carbon Fiber String Trimmer increases the cutting width from 15 inches to 16 inches. It retains the durable carbon fiber shaft and automatic line feeding system. The main upgrade is the battery capacity. This model includes a 4.0Ah battery, compared to the 2.5Ah battery in the original. This provides longer runtime per charge. The trade-off is a larger physical footprint and potentially higher cost. It is ideal for users who need to cover more ground quickly and want extended battery life. If you value the wider cut and automatic line refills, this premium option offers significant performance gains over the 15-inch base model.
Greenworks 60V 16-Inch Cordless String Trimmer
The Greenworks 60V 16-Inch Cordless String Trimmer offers a different voltage platform and a wider cut. It operates at 60V with a 15-inch cutting width, though the model name suggests 16 inches, the specs list 15 inches. It uses a 2.5Ah battery. The shaft is not made of carbon fiber. This tool is best for users who want to share batteries across the Greenworks ecosystem. It provides a robust alternative if you are not invested in the 56V EGO system. The 60V motor delivers strong power, but you lose the carbon fiber durability and automatic line winding features. It is a solid choice for those prioritizing brand flexibility and wide cutting paths.
WORX 40V 15-Inch Trimmer and Blower Combo
The WORX 40V 15-Inch Trimmer and Blower Combo differs significantly in voltage and function. It operates at 40V, which is lower than the 56V original. It includes a 15-inch cutting width. The major advantage is the two-in-one design. You get a string trimmer and a blower in one kit. This allows you to trim weeds and clear leaves using a single battery platform. The carbon fiber shaft is present in the trimmer component. However, the overall weight is higher at 20 pounds for the kit. This option suits users who want versatility and do not need the raw power of a 56V system. It is practical for medium to large yards with mixed tasks.
EGO Power+ 15-Inch Telescopic String Trimmer
The EGO Power+ 15-Inch Telescopic String Trimmer shares the 15-inch cutting width and automatic line feeding technology. It lacks the battery and charger included with the original. The key feature is the telescopic shaft. This allows you to adjust the length for different heights. The original has a fixed carbon fiber shaft. This model maintains the durability and convenience of automatic line refills. It is ideal for users who already own EGO batteries and need adjustable height. You save money by not buying a battery, but you must source one separately. It is a flexible option for users who prioritize adjustability and brand compatibility over a complete ready-to-use package.
WORX 15-Inch Brushless 40V String Trimmer
The WORX 15-Inch Brushless 40V String Trimmer uses a 40V platform with a 15-inch cutting width. It includes a 4.0Ah battery, offering more runtime than the original's 2.5Ah. The motor is brushless, which can improve efficiency and longevity. The shaft is not carbon fiber. This model weighs 9.42 pounds, making it heavier than the original. It features variable speed control, which the original does not list. This is beneficial for precise trimming and edging tasks. It is best for users who value lightweight maneuverability and adjustable speed. The 40V system is suitable for standard yards. You trade the carbon fiber durability and 56V power for a brushless motor and variable speed control.
